Springdale beat Conway 4-1 on Friday to win its second state title in a row and the fourth in program history.

The first goal was scored by Rene Recinos.
The second goal was a penalty kick by Eric Guerrero, putting the Bulldogs up. 2-0 at the half.
The third goal was scored by Diego Flores before Conway scored their first and only goal.
Eric Guerrero made the fourth goal for Springdale.
Jose Oropeza was named MVP of the game.

Coach DJ Beeler said the win is a big deal for the school and the program.
“For the program, I feel like this just reinforces what we do here at Springdale and what we are about,” he said. “This school has so much tradition and history and we love being a part of that.

“This season we won our 8th Conference Championship and our fourth State Championship. Being the defending State Champions we got everyone’s best shot this season. After a few losses this season we watched the other teams celebrate like they won the State Championship. We just kept our focus on getting better throughout the season and playing our best soccer at the end of the year we didn’t want to celebrate until we had that trophy in our hands.”

Junior Mike Solis said winning the state championship was the ultimate goal.

“It feels like a dream come true,” he said. “I’ve seen my brother, my cousin, and a lot of friends play on the Springdale soccer team and not make it to the final to win a ring. We proved ourselves and showed everyone who we were.”
